Two-Tone Kitchenette with Open Shelving
Navy shaker bases under a light quartz run, with white uppers, crown and floating shelves.
What the space needed
Fit a working kitchenette — sink run, closed storage and display shelving — into a narrow wall in a secondary living space.
Decisions we made
- Split the palette so the heavier navy sits at floor level and the white uppers keep the narrow wall from closing in.
- Ran a tall white cabinet to the ceiling with crown to square off the opening rather than leaving a dust shelf above.
- Used open floating shelves between the tall cabinet and the wall cabinet so the middle of the run stays visually light.
- Kept the base run to drawers and doors on a single level counter so the whole span works as one prep surface.
The result
A compact run that reads as built-in rather than added on, with the tall cabinet and crown tying it into the existing ceiling line.
