White Shaker Kitchenette with Granite Peninsula

What the space needed

Add a self-contained kitchen to a lower-level space and give it a seating edge without closing off the room.

Decisions we made

• Carried the uppers close to the ceiling and added a tall pantry column so the small footprint gains vertical storage.
• Used a peninsula rather than a full island so the counter can serve as a divider and a seating edge at once.
• Wrapped the peninsula in beadboard panelling so the back of the cabinetry reads as furniture from the living side.
• Chose brass knobs against flat white doors as the single warm detail in the room.

The result

A full kitchenette in a compact footprint, with the granite peninsula doing double duty as prep space and a room divider.
