Quartz and Hex-Tile Kitchen
A U-shaped white kitchen with a wrapping quartz peninsula, glass-front uppers and hex marble tile.
What the space needed
Open up a closed kitchen and get more prep and serving surface without extending the footprint.
Decisions we made
- Wrapped the counter around a peninsula so the room gains a long prep run and a pass-through to the next space.
- Kept the perimeter cabinetry white and used a blue-grey on the glass-front section so the display cabinets read as a deliberate feature.
- Lit the glass-front uppers from inside rather than relying on the room's ceiling cans.
- Corner-cut the uppers beside the window to keep daylight on the sink run.
The result
A brighter kitchen with a continuous working counter, display storage that is actually used, and a backsplash that carries through the whole room.
